On Tuesday January 29th our school was a very special place to be. We were greeted with famous faces from all ages, races and walks of life. Our cafeteria was transformed into a wax museum and was filled with 90 famous characters who taught hundreds of guests and visitors all about themselves. It was an amazing transformation and everyone who entered the museum that day walked away enlightened. I could not have been more proud of the effort of these kids. They really knew their information and were very excited and eager to share all they had learned. Here are some pictures from the event.
The project was to read a biography of a famous American or someone who has had a positive influence on American history. They read the book, wrote a book report, created a poster sharing facts they learned and then presented to the class. The BIG event was the wax museum. They were then able to dress up like their character and we created a museum like setting where we invited parents, other students and friends to visit our museum and learn about our heroes. It was a great turn out and the kids were so proud of their work! I was all smiles all day as I listened to them proudly share the facts and information with our guests.
If you were not able to attend we do hope you just enjoyed this virtual tour through our museum! If you were able to be there we appreciate your support. It was a great activity and we all learned so much! A big thanks to anyone who had a part in making the museum come to life no matter how big or small your part was you were appreciated.
THANKS for stopping by!
If you would like me to email you a copy of the photo of your child please let me know and I can make that happen. If your child is not posted I apologize, I can get you a picture of them too!
